Welcome to our 2024 wrap-up! It’s been an amazing year filled with exciting updates and milestones. We enhanced our auditing capabilities, introduced importing data controls, streamlined user administration, and rolled out some highly requested features—yes, including the long-awaited “wait list” status!
On top of that, we’ve been busy onboarding clubs and expanding the Bilby partner network. To top it all off, our usage has doubled since last year, and we couldn’t be prouder. None of this would have been possible without your support—thank you for being part of this incredible journey!
In the meantime, we’ve been busy redesigning our interface to support even more features being for 2025.
What are the new changes?
Our first major change is a re-design of the administration interface. Observing user behavior revealed that the menu links and action items could feel overwhelming.
Interface Update (Old Design)
In the screenshot below (Courtesy of, John Evans), you’ll see a comparison of the main activity management screen. Previously, the sidebar was a static navigation menu, admin actions were hidden in a dropdown, and key pages like the Message Board were buried under “Manage Users” two clicks away. Meanwhile, the breadcrumbs often extended beyond their usefulness.

Interface Update (New Design)
We’ve made several improvements in our new design. First, we moved all menu items and admin actions to the left sidebar, giving each page its own context so you can easily see where to go and what actions are available. We also enhanced the prominence of the page title and its relationship to the breadcrumbs, creating a more familiar and intuitive navigation experience across all pages.

URL Updates and Cleanup
Over the years, we’ve added many extensions to Bilby, often placing them in separate sections to avoid URL conflicts. With this update, we’ve redesigned the URL structure to streamline and group everything into its proper section. Keep an eye out for these changes, and don’t forget to update your bookmarks!
Structural Improvements
Another key update is the restructuring of our project to support new features. This allows us to add more connected services, enhance the experience for administrators and users, provide better support from club administrators, and seamlessly introduce new actions and capabilities.
What’s next?
In early 2025, we’ll be revisiting user registration to make the onboarding process even smoother for new Bilby users. Following that, our focus will shift to automated onboarding, expanding connected services (like Mailchimp), refining products, and delivering your most requested features.
